A mesmerizing stretch of the American West Coast, the Oregon Coast is a land
of rugged beauty, where the sea meets the sky in a breathtaking display of nature's power and grace. For those seeking the ultimate scenic drive experience, there is no better destination than our one-of-a-kind coastal wonderland.
On the Oregon Coast lies Highway 101, a meandering road that takes you on an epic journey from the California border to the Columbia River. Traveling this route with my family was one of my most cherished childhood memories. It's a true marvel of engineering and is widely regarded as one of the most scenic drives in the world. Along the way, you'll be treated to a never-ending feast of jaw-dropping views, from dramatic cliffs to sweeping beaches, from misty forests to majestic mountains.
There is more to the Oregon Coast than just Highway 101. Here's 5 special detours you can take to create more spectacular memories:
Three Capes Scenic Loop is a 40-mile loop takes you along the Pacific Ocean and through lush forests, with stunning views of three capes along the way, such as Cape Meares, Cape Lookout, and Cape Kiwanda.
Historic Columbia River Highway does not strictly run along the coast, but this scenic drive is a must-see if you're in the area. It follows the Columbia River Gorge, passing by numerous waterfalls and providing breathtaking views of the river and surrounding mountains.
Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor is located in the southern part of the coast, this 12-mile stretch offers incredible views of rugged cliffs, pristine beaches, and offshore rock formations.
Yaquina Bay Scenic Loop is a 12-mile loop takes you through Newport, one of the largest towns along the coast, and offers views of Yaquina Bay and the iconic Yaquina Bay Bridge.
Cascade Head Scenic Research Area is near Lincoln City. Here you'll find stunning views of the coastline from the top of Cascade Head, which is a 1,200-foot-high headland.
In the end, a scenic drive on the Oregon Coast is more than just a journey. It's an unforgettable experience, a chance to reflect on those things that are greater than ourselves, to marvel at the wonder of creation, and to be reminded of our place in the grand scheme of things. So pack your bags, hit the road, and let the Oregon Coast work its magic on you. For this is a trip you'll never forget, a journey of a lifetime, a masterpiece of the American landscape.
